Gilbert always tried his best to stay hidden from humans, and while he had seen them before it had always been from a distance. And though he'd been chased away by a bird he had caught a glimpse of that man the first time he saw him. Once the bird had left, he'd peeked through the vent to see him continue to walk off. He was nearly completely hidden, though his eyes caught the sun which made a sparkle in them. He'd always been so interested in humans, and he thought that was the closest he'd been to one. While he was curious about them he also feared them. They were so much larger than him, he had a good reason to be scared! Later that day he was going to leave his home in hopes of finding food this time for real, and was quite pleasantly surprised to find the sugar cube. And the note. He could read, so that was good. He stood on the paper so it wouldn't blow away as it was kind of windy, and picked up the sugar cube. He read it, and smiled slightly. For some reason that made him happy, maybe he'd actually get to talk to a human and see one close up? He knew there was a house close to here, was that where the human lived? That /was/ the direction he was going in. He decided, he would see the human. He'd do so a little later though, once it was night. There would be less threats for him then. So, once it was nighttime he set out to go see the human. While he could see the house, it was actually quite far for him. Ugh... This was going to take awhile. After a bit, he made it to the human's house. Sometimes, he really hated his size. He crawled through the crack under the door. He carefully made his way around, finding the man he'd seen earlier. He saw him asleep, but he didn't know how to wake him up. He wasn't brave enough to go over to him and try waking him up, or to speak and wake him up. Would he even be able to hear his voice? Gilbert room a breath, and feeling lucky he'd brought the sugar cube from earlier (although it had a few small bites taken out of it; it was much too sweet for him) he through it onto the floor. It made a small thump, not very loud at all. He smiled though, seeing the man starting to shift and sit up. He watched as he stood and backed up against the wall some, not wanting to be squished. He drew in a shaky breath and slowly walked forward to the human, tugging at the blonde's pants. "Y-Yeah..! I'm here!" He shouted, trying to be loud enough to he heard all the way down here.
